This type of body jewellery achieves its unique colour with the use of Colourline PVD Plating or similarly titanium plating. Take caution cleaning or exposing plated jewellery to water. Plated jewellery (unlike solid gold) will fade over time, especially when it is regularly exposed to water or chemicals like soaps, creams, sun lotion, tanning oils and cleaning products. Even your perspiration and the PH balance of your skin can affect the lifespan of plated body jewellery.

It's impossible to predict how long your plated collection will last as this depends on many factors, including how often you wear it and the conditions you expose it to. Chlorine, salt water and pool chemicals can have an aging effect on your shiny plated jewels, for this reason we recommend replacing your plated body jewellery with surgical steel, 925 Sterling silver or solid gold when showering or swimming and saving your plated jewellery for other special occasions.

NOTE: Do NOT store your plated jewellery in the bathroom or anywhere humid, this will speed up the aging process. Keep plated jewellery dry and away from the elements.

BODY JEWELLERY SPECIFICATIONS

How to wear: Captives

  • Step 1: Use a disinfectant hand soap to wash your hands, your navel piercing, and your body jewellery.
  • Step 2: The ball in the captive bead belly ring is referred to as a 'bead' because it has two beaded dents in the side of the balls where it meets the circumference of the piercing shaft. We recommend sitting down when you open a captive bead ring so that if the ball falls out it lands in your lap (nothing worse then lost jewellery balls! argh). The ball is being held in place from the tension of the sphere, to release the tension simply apply outward pressure to both sides of the belly ring.
  • Step 3: Likewise, once you insert your new jewellery, line up the beads on either side and slot the ball back into the opened space.
