How do you open a captive belly ring?

The ball in the captive bead belly ring is referred to as a 'bead' because it has two beaded dents in the side of the balls where it meets the circumference of the belly bar shaft. We recommend sitting down when you open a captive belly ring so that if the ball falls out it lands in your lap (nothing worse then lost belly ring balls! argh). The ball is being held in place from the tension of the sphere, to release the tension simply apply outward pressure to both sides of the belly ring. Likewise, once you insert your new belly ring, line up the beads on either side and slot the ball back into the opened space.
